“If it wasn’t for Youth For Christ, I don’t know if I would still be here,” said Alex, a 9th grader at Trinity High School in Washington County.

At Washington/Trinity Campus Life, a story of transformation continues to unfold. Alex carries a quiet strength, what the team often calls a “quiet storm.” Something steady. Something God-ignited, brewing with God-given potential.

This journey didn’t begin with confidence. Four years ago, a friend invited Alex to Middle School Campus Life. Curiosity said yes, but pain arrived too.

Life at that point held more questions than answers. Financial instability left things uncertain. Emotional and mental battles added weight. Loss and confusion clouded hope. The voice of the enemy worked hard to convince Alex that fear and lack were the final words.

But the truth began to speak louder.

Campus Life became a consistent, trusted place. Conversations built connection. The message of Jesus challenged every lie. Over time, the walls fell. Trust grew and hope took root. The gospel wasn’t just heard, it was embraced.

Today, peers turn to Alex during group discussions for truth and perspective. Scripture guides each step, and bold faith keeps growing. During Campus Life each week, Alex often shares the verses that offer strength and serve as reminders of God’s presence.

One verse now marks this season:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
—2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

Through steady discipleship from Washington/Trinity Campus Life team members, Milena, Kace, and Stephen, transformation has taken root. These leaders continue to walk closely with Alex, witnessing what happens when faith, presence, and the Spirit of God move together.

Now, a once-hurting student lives with purpose. Not just believing—but convinced of God’s love and power.

This is what Youth For Christ exists for: meeting students in pivotal moments and helping uncover God’s story of hope.

Once more, in Alex’s own words:
“If it wasn’t for Youth For Christ, I don’t know if I would still be here.”
