Campus Life has impacted countless young lives, offering a unique blend of social engagement and spiritual growth. For one South Fayette student, an invitation through football led him to something far greater than he expected. Initially drawn in by the chance to connect with others, Colton found not just friendship, but a renewed connection to faith in God.

Meet Colton

“Campus Life has had a great effect on me and my life,” Colton shares. “I’ve been attending since my freshman year, about two years ago.”

His journey with Campus Life began when Andrew Barney, the South Fayette Campus Life Director, visited his football team and invited them to a meetup later that day.

“I hadn’t been in a youth group before, but many people I knew were involved, so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to be more social on Thursdays and go out to talk to people.”

What started as a way to be more social quickly turned into something much deeper.

“Since then, I’ve stayed active in the group because of the social aspect, but more importantly, I’ve started to reconnect with my faith in God,” Colton says.

Through meaningful friendships and learning more about the Gospel, Colton has found Campus Life to be an outlet for spiritual growth.

“This group was an early outlet for me to develop and learn more about the teachings and deeper meanings of Christianity,” he shares. “I’ve made new friends through CL, including the leaders. I’ve connected with all of them and developed great friendships on which I can rely.”

One moment stands out above the rest.

“My favorite memory from CL is my first Heatwave. I bonded with my friends and the leaders while having fun and learning important lessons, which I try to follow to this day.”

Now, as an upperclassman, Colton sees Campus Life as something much more than just a weekly gathering.

“Campus Life is one of the most important things in my life right now,” he says. “It feels like another family where I can not only socialize with friends but also learn about my faith in a positive and safe environment.”

Partnering in Prayer

We invite you to pray for the ongoing impact of Campus Life, as young people continue to grow in their faith and build meaningful connections. Pray that students, like Colton, find a welcoming community where they can experience the love of Christ and strengthen their faith.

Pray for our leaders to be blessed with wisdom, strength, and compassion as they guide and mentor these young hearts. Lastly, let’s pray that Campus Life remains a place where students feel safe, encouraged, and drawn closer to God in every season of life.

Thank you for your prayers and support!
